St Theresa's Sanatorium

By Averil Staunton

Loretto is looking for anybody who might have known of her father Michael Cunningham from Castlebar and his first wife Barbara from Boyle who spent some time at Creagh sanatorium in Ballinrobe in the 1950’s;

 “I am hoping to see if there is anyone still around who would remember her or if there are any records from her time there?”.

If you can help it would be appreciated. For information on the Sanatorium see:

Doctor Thornton's House is on the way up the avenue on the the right hand side near the nurses' home and King's house was in the Farm Yard.

Editor: Many thanks for sharing this information; it is much appreciated.

I was born in the gatehouse acreage lodge on the Castlebar Road and later lived in the King's house next door to the doctors house until it was closed.

Thank you for your input Sidney. Delighted to hear from you. Could you tell me where King's house/doctors house was please?
