Harry Clarke's St. Patrick

Eriks & Elizabeth GROUP 2, 6th class, St, Joseph's PS, Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo

St Patrick is represented as an older white bearded man with purple halo. The purple halo is surrounded by a decorated turquoise band and he wears a bishop's mitre. Over a purple alb he wears a green and turquoise chasuble with purple ruched sleeves.

On his left hand he wears a blue glove, blue being St. Patrick’s colour and not the green normally associated with St. Patrick's Day worldwide. Under his chin is an elaborate gold brooch with a highlighted shamrock beneath. Around his neck is a blue decorated fringed stole which hangs down over his short habit.
