The window we chose has St. Brendan in his boat with a starry night sky behind him. We chose this window because we liked the dark colours and how Harry Clarke left the stars clear so when the light shines through it looks like actual stars.
The colours of the angel in the top left hand corner are dark purple, white and dark red. These colours look beautiful against the dark blue sky. The water is a dark and rich royal blue.
The starry night window is to the left side of the church when you walk in the main entrance. The starry night window is the 2nd window from the back and above the starry night window is St. Brendan with his oar.
St. Brendan was a navigator and in this window he is in a boat on the ocean. The colours in the starry night sky are dark blue, turquoise, purples and reds. The starry night window is the 17th stained glass window in St Mary’s church and they were installed in 1925.
