Mary Pat Burke from Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, has forwarded this image of Mr. Michael Grimes from Kilmaine, County Mayo taken in May 1972. She was travelling with a friend while enjoying the scenery of the Ballinrobe hinterland when they met Mr. Grimes.

He agreed to have his photo taken and Mary Pat has “always found that this photo was a reminder of the gracious quality of the Irish people.”

It is her hope “that someone in the area will recognize this photo of Michael Grimes.  I recall him to be an engaging man who was very kind to two young yanks visiting your beautiful country.”
